So it seems that most school districts are worried about layoffs. This was understandable to me a couple of months ago. Local, state, and federal governments are low on funds and they can not raise taxes on residents because residents are low on funds. However, I don't understand why this fear is so wide spread now. I thought that Obama's stimulus package allocated funds for education including a percentage for the building of new schools. Why build new schools if there are no teachers to teach in them? I thought when the packages was passed some of the burden was lifted from school districts but it doesn't seem so. I wish someone could explain this all to me!!
